Last week I got a call from a friend of mine. He had to choose between three self publishing companies, and he didn’t know which one was best. I asked him to describe them to me, and he did. One was in this big tall building downtown, and had these big glass windows that were shiny and clear. The other company had an office that was near the University, and was really old fashioned and stuffy. The third one was not even in the country, it was somewhere in Bolivia, and they did everything through the Internet. But they were much cheaper than some of the other places, and they had quite a string of successes when it came to publishing books that were really successful. I guess he didn’t like the idea of going only over the Internet, even though they were cheaper. I think he chose the one that was downtown, and had all the shiny windows. I guess when you have plenty of shiny windows, you can really take care of business.
